Swimming In It

Portland is such a good town for food and sometimes when you have someone in town visiting you just have to go for it.  This weekend was such a reminder of how much I love eating in this town.  Saturday brunch at Little Red Bike Cafe which is the home to the best fried egg sandwiches in Portland, amazing coffee, awesome weekly specials, and homemade ice cream.  I had a special veggie sausage and peppers and egg sandwich that briefly blew my mind and followed it up with small scoops of chocolate peanut butter pie ice cream and lemon rosemary sorbet!

Saturday evening found myself back in St. Johns at Proper Eats the totally awesome totally hippie market and cafe.  Eating at Proper Eats feels like injecting yourself with raw nutrition.  I got an excellent spinach salad with hazlenuts and avocado and yum.

On Sunday, after swimming at Three Pools

Finished off the weekend at Nutshell.  They have recently gone from vegan to vegetarian adding cheese and egg to a couple dishes but most things were still vegan. They also switched back to original small plates style.  We ate dinner on the family style full share tip so we had like 10 different items to monch on.  The chilled watermelon soup with cherry tomatoes and mint was amazing.  The creamy farro with oyster mushrooms and corn and microgreens!  It was one of those meals I will be thinking about for weeks to come.

Inspiring food experiences make life better!
